The contract state is the state where Part 1 of the application is signed if the insured resides or works in that state. If not, the contract state is the owner’s resident state. Run a New Business Checklist to determine the appropriate contract state.
Producers must hold Life & Health licenses and must complete any statutory training required to sell long term care insurance in each applicable jurisdiction prior to solicitation. In risk located states, producers must also be licensed in the insured’s state of residence. Check state licensing and training laws to determine applicable state requirements.
