SPRINGFIELD, Mass., and BOSTON – MassMutual has again been recognized as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts, earning a spot on the16th annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe. 2023 winners were announced at a live event in Boston on November 29.
Top Places to Work recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state voted on by the people who know them best – their employees. The survey measures employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement. The employers are placed into one of four groups: small, with 50 to 99 employees; medium, with 100 to 249 workers; large, with 250 to 999; and largest, with 1,000 or more. MassMutual ranked number 20 in the “largest” company category.
“This accolade marks the fifth consecutive year our employees acknowledged our commitment to fostering an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, valued, and respected,” said Sue Cicco, Head of Human Resources and Employee Experience at MassMutual. “Over the past year, we continued modernizing our benefits and approaching well-being holistically to meet our employees’ evolving needs. We embraced our flexible workplace approach with a hybrid schedule that balances the benefits of coming together in-person with personal needs, and built on our diversity, equity and inclusion journey.”
This year, MassMutual was additionally honored by The Globe as a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) standout alongside 22 other Massachusetts-based companies. This accolade recognizes MassMutual’s steadfast, demonstrated commitment to creating an environment that is equitable and inclusive for its employees, customers, business partners, and the communities it serves.
“The best employers are always striving to put their people first, whether they’re honoring small individual accomplishments or adjusting company-wide policies to become more inclusive,” said Katie Johnston, the Globe’s Top Places to Work editor.
The rankings in Top Places to Work are based on confidential survey information collected by Energage (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention, from more than 137K individuals at 347 Massachusetts organizations.
